Reconstructive Dentistry: When we talk about reconstructive dentistry, most of the time we are talking about dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, and implant restorations. One of the most innovative things in dentistry right now are implants. This is phenomenal procedure that allows us to replace missing teeth without touching adjacent teeth anymore. This is precision dentistry and when applicable, patients can go from badly broken down or missing teeth, to replacement teeth which feel just like your natural teeth used to. The esthetics can be made to custom fit any type of case. Our dental laboratory is equipped with special lighting and custom shade evaluation if necessary. Dr. Tamaki has been restoring mouths for 20 years and has done many full mouth reconstructions.
Cosmetic Dentistry: This involves bleaching of teeth, in which there are many methods to use. The two most common methods used in our office are Zoom Bleaching, which many of you may have seen on the TV show "Extreme Makeover". This was a procedure invented by Dr. William Dorfman, who you have seen on TV if you have watched this show. This bleaching procedure is done right in our office. The second most common method of bleaching is home bleaching. In this method, we will take impressions of your teeth and make what are called bleaching stents. These fit right over your teeth and will bathe your teeth in the bleaching solution either for one hour in one method, or overnight while you sleep in another method. The results are comparable and it depends on what your preference is. Another common cosmetic procedure is porcelain veneers. This is a remarkable procedure in which the shape, contour and color of the teeth can be made in most instances just what the patient desires. Typically, patients will request sexy looking teeth that allow you to have that "perfect smile". We can make them white as a sheet or make them more of a natural white shade.
General Dentistry: Dr. Tamaki is competent in all phases of dentistry. In our office, we perform most endodontic procedures (root canal therapy). Dr. Tamaki has performed hundreds of root canals and has a very high success rate. He also performs almost all restorative procedures, and periodontal maintenance procedures. We also provide therapeutic periodontal procedures such as deep scaling with root planning, as well as antibiotic therapy concurrent with periodontal therapy. This antibiotic therapy has increased the success rate of the deep scaling and will reduce your chances of needing periodontal (gum) surgery. We also do some oral surgery that does not involve intravenous sedation. We do have Nitrous Oxide analgesia available for those patients who need it. Dr. Tamaki has lots of experience in all of these areas and most procedures can be done in our office. If a patient requires special needs, Dr. Tamaki has been working with a top notch group of specialists who he can refer you to if needed.
